Cluster beans is one among the beans family which stands out for its unique taste. This dry Sabzi is one of our family favourite it’s popularly known as Kuttu Palya in Kannada as the cluster beans and other spice would be crushed/ pounded with the help of mortar pestle. After Modernization of the kitchen mortar pestle was replaced by mixer grinder. This Sabzi is slightly Spicy. Make sure to choose tender vegetables as it will more tasty and also takes less time for cooking.

Ingredients
- Cluster beans : 500gm
- Green chillies : 20 no.
- Cumin seeds : 3tbsp
- Freshly grated coconut : 1 cup
- Rock salt : 1/2 TSP
- Mustard : 1tbsp
- Salt to adjust taste if required.
Instructions

Firstly wash and clean the cluster beans and cut into half.

In a mixer jar add little cluster beans, green chillies, cumin seeds and little rocksalt and pulse/ pound it.

In a pan heat 4 tbsp oil, add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.

Now add the pounded mixture and saute for a couple of minutes.

Add little salt if required to balance taste & sprinkle little water and mix well.

Close the lid and cook on a low flame for 10 min

Open the lid, the colour of the vegetable will be changed, which indicates that the vegetable is done.

Now add freshly grated coconut and mix well.
Note: This side dish goes well with chapati as well as rice.
